The role

As a member of the Business Development Team, reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will provide strategic and practical advice, and identify opportunities to increase awareness, adoptions and revenue by delivering a creative and audience-focused digital experience through implementing our digital marketing to achieve our strategic plan.

  • Collaborate with the Business Development Team to develop and implement strategies and plans that engage key audiences, enhance brand, promote the organisation’s work, and grow revenue.
  • Partner with our Marketing Content Creator and Photographer/Videographers for engaging call-to-action content.
  • Plan, coordinate and optimise campaign and activation content for online channels.
  • Utilise exceptional skills to tell compelling stories to a diverse audience across various mediums.
  • Manage website updates to describe our organisation’s programs, services and opportunities.
  • Analyse digital data and compile regular reports on performance for continuous improvement.
  • Apply search marketing principles to online content to improve search engine ranking.
  • Increase reach into new platforms to attract online audience and increase revenue opportunities.
  • Analyse current market trends and predict future trends.

 About you

 Key criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in business, marketing, communications, digital media or related discipline
  • Minimum 2-3 years' minimum experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge on the latest updates, features, trends and best practices in social media call-to-action.
  • Demonstrated experience with website updates and optimisation.
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a small team environment to achieve common goals.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills.
  • Track record of achieving targets in a small, high-performance team with limited resources.
  • Proficient/Expert using all relevant platform specific content creation tools; TikTok, IG, Meta Business Suite, Facebook Creator Studio, YouTube, LinkedIn, and the like.
  • Proficient with basic video and photo editing, Microsoft Office suite and creative content software packages, including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or the like.
  • Ability to work outside the scope of business hours as required to attend events.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and agreement to provide valid Police Check. 

Desirable criteria

  • Previous not-for-profit social media fundraising tools.
  • Understanding of companion animal welfare needs in the community.
