About the role
Join us for a rewarding career at the Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ)! We are currently looking for a Part-Time Veterinary Receptionist to join our Community Vet Clinic.
This reception position is like no other veterinary reception position, the AWLQ CVC is a community vet clinic, providing enormous variety and unique daily challenges. As the key connection between our clients and the community veterinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring our patients and their owners have the most positive experience possible during their interactions with the AWLQ CVC. At times the clinic can be extremely busy and fast-paced, no two days are the same!
The ideal person for this position must have the ability to remain calm in pressurised often unpredictable circumstances, maintain compassion and a positive attitude, empathy and demonstrate a strong work ethic. The days can be long and at times challenging, but the sense of achievement in making a difference in an animal’s life remains your reason for turning up each and every day.
Ultimately, we are looking for someone who prides themselves on providing the highest level of customer service, is an excellent problem solver and thrives in the hustle and bustle of a busy community vet clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: deliver exceptional customer service, facilitate appointment setting and answer general inquiries
- Patient Admission and Discharge: facilitate this process with care and compassion.
- Process Payments, invoices and end of day reconciliation
- Store Management: opening and closing of the clinic, merchandising and cleanliness
- Customer Support and conflict resolution in a professional and dignified fashion
Key Skills and Experience
- Current driver’s license.
- Strong experience in a high volume intensive customer service environment.
- A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in administrative and reception roles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to resolve customer issues.
- Demonstrated affinity with animals.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of the team and wider organisation.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively contributing in a team environment.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite and IT systems ability (minimum).
- Strong attention to detail.
