About the role

Are you ready to combine your love for animals with your people skills? We are looking for a casual Receptionist to join our Gold Coast Rehoming Centre team. You will be the first point of contact welcoming and supporting members of the public.

You will work closely with our rehoming team to ensure animals and members of public receive efficient assistance and support. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will be key in ensuring reception runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Customer service: Provide excellent customer service to all AWLQ customers, visitors, and volunteers, welcoming visitors, responding to in-person, phone, and email inquiries, providing relevant service and support information

Administration and data entry: Using programs including Shelter Buddy, POS, Google Docs, Microsoft Office

Process payments and retail service: Assist customers with purchases from our retail space, processing payments for products and services, and end-of-day reconciliation

What are the minimum requirements for this position?

  • 2+ years of experience in reception or administrative roles, with a focus on high-volume, fast-paced environments.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, IT, and POS
  • Excellent communication skills, a passion for animals, and strong attention to detail in a team setting.
  • A current Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work over a 7-day roster including some weekends and public holidays
