About the role
Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) is currently looking for a casual Cat Assistance Team (CAT) Coordinator to join our Ipswich Rehoming Centre.
As the C.A.T. Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in preventing stray and impounded cats and kittens and reducing the oversupply of cats in the community.
Key Responsibilities

Respond to requests for assistance from members of public and owners of wondering cats, offer support including desexing, containment advice, pet food bank, transporting cats, trapping under socialised cats for desexing, providing guidance on cat welfare, and resolving cat complaints

Engage with the community identifying areas and members of public needing support with excess cats and build a supporter network.

Data entry creating and updating files for owners, cats, and members of public

Cat trap requests respond to cat trap hire requests providing support and solutions

Ensure compliance to AWLQ policy and procedure, in addition to compliance with local, state, and federal legislation and permits
What are the minimum requirements for this position?
-
Experience in cat care, handling and behavior

Experience coordinating community support programs

Tertiary qualification in Vet Nursing, Social Work, or similar fields (desirable)
- Current drivers licence
- Experience working with local councils (desirable)
