Key Responsibilities

Provide daily care to animals

Animal management
- Engage your team with a motivational coaching style
- Provide clear direction to the team on operational requirements

Collaborate with our network of Rehoming Managers

Animal behaviour assessments and training plans

Adoption and surrender counselling
- Operations, administration and compliance
- Champion and ensure Workplace Health and Safety
- Ensure the Rehoming Centre’s compliance to AWLQ policy and procedure in all areas of operation, in addition to compliance with state and federal legislation
- Animal welfare focused decision making
- Build collaborative relationships with our stakeholders including local council
What are the minimum requirements for this position?
- Team leadership experience
- Current drivers licence
- Experience working with local councils (desirable)
- Experience with animal care in a professional environment
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service
- Ability to supervise and motivate others to achieve high productivity and standards of work
- Intermediate level computer skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Available to work 4-5 days a week, including two weekend days split per fortnight, and some public holidays
