About the role
Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) is currently looking for an Animal Care Attendant at Brisbane Community Vet Clinic! AWLQ Animal Attendants play a huge part in ensuring the welfare of our animals. This is a casual role with the opportunity to move to permanent part-time.
The Animal Attendant is responsible for supporting the team in providing the highest level of care to our patients. You’ll be working within a team of highly skilled and passionate veterinary professionals under the banner of one of the most respected brands in animal welfare. Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and cleaning animal housing to a high standard
- Monitoring and reporting on animals welfare
- Providing food, water and regular exercise to all animals in care
- High level accuracy and attention to detail when updating animal and person records using our digital system.
- Exceptional customer service to all visitors
What are the minimum requirements for this position?
- Certificate II in Animal studies or equivalent experience
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with animal care in a professional environment
- Confident dog and cat handling skills, able to read body language
- Experience using digital management software and inputting data
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills
- Ability to manage your own time effectively and be respectful of the time of others
- Completes tasks thoroughly with strong attention to detail within deadlines
- Versatility, flexibility, and positivity
- Must be available to work a 5-day roster with some 6.30 pm finish
