Every day, we see the incredible lengths people go to for the animals they love. But we also see the challenges many families face – financial hardship, housing insecurity, illness, family violence and unexpected life events that can put both people and pets at risk.
That’s why we’re working towards a future where support comes before crisis, people and pets are supported together, and communities are empowered to create brighter futures for all.
As part of our Board growth and development, we are seeking a Board Secretary to help support the governance, legal compliance, and institutional memory of the organisation.
Help deliver high-quality governance and regulatory support to the Board and organisation.
The role ensures that Board and Sub-Committee processes are effective, transparent and appropriately documented, and that the organisation maintains appropriate systems to monitor and meet its statutory, regulatory and governance obligations.
The Board Secretary acts as a trusted governance adviser to the Board, providing independent advice on governance matters and ensuring that the Board has timely, accurate and appropriately structured information to support effective decision-making.
We are looking for someone who can bring:-

Demonstrated experience in Board Secretary, corporate governance, legal, regulatory or senior governance roles

Experience with ACNC reporting and governance requirements

Experience working with Boards and senior executives

Demonstrated knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance requirements

Time commitment: Approximately 1 day per month, including Bi-monthly Board meetings, Sub-committee participation and occasional events.
